Walt: Make predictions based on the cover and blurb

Learning Reflection

I was able to look for similarities on the cover and I was able to make predictions by looking for key words in the blurb. 

Next time will  look for more key words so I can make my predictions more accurate.  I will also look for more similarities on the cover.   

Quotation Marks

Walt : use a wide range of advanced punctuation correctly

Learning Reflection

I was able to identify where the quotation marks were supposed to go and if they were being put in the right place e.g when the person is speaking AKA before and after. I also was able to identify if the right punctuation was put before the end of the quotation marks.

Next time I need to identify when someone is talking and when someone is reporting something.

Maths Problems

Walt : use a variety of multiplacation strategies to solve multiplacation problems

Learning Reflection

To do this I needed to expand numbers, understand my basic facts,use soldiers, ad 2 and 3 digit numbers and use brackets to solve problems. I also was able to identify what numbers I needed to double and what numbers I needed to halve.

Next time I can do better by making harder problems to do rounding and compensating, Place Value and Doubling and Halving. I can also use my brackets so people can understand my work better.

1967 and 2017 birthdays

WALT: compare and contrast birthdays


This year for inquire we are learning about celebrations because it is the schools 50th birthday.
We are comparing what they did at birthday parties in 1967 compared to 2017 and what some similarities are.

ANZAC Day

W.a.l.t: Find and summaries information by choosing the most important information in a text and linking it back to the topic.

Learning Reflection 

I was able to summaries information by choosing the most important information in the text. To get the most important information I skimmed and scanned all 6 paragraphs 

Next time I will find information that is more important I will also put my information in my own words.
